Adrian Schmidt was born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, and has a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires. After working for the National Government in different roles, he became an entrepreneur and built his own business. Some years later, he was called to serve in different IT roles for various educational institutions around the world. During his service in Southeast Asia, he obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration and Information Technology while working full-time as the IT director. After earning his MBA, he settled with his family in Canada. During that time, he has also volunteered for many non-profit committees in various roles, including being a board treasurer for multiple years. Last year, he moved with his family to Maryland, USA, where he works as IT Director for the World Headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He has participated in the Internet and ICANN communities since 2017, attending

different meetings and events. He firmly believes that now is the time to be involved and give back to NARALO, serving as the Secretariat. Although the work ahead is significant, he advocates teamwork and listening to the community as the ways to build a more inclusive, secure and open Internet.
